BUILT ENVIRONMENT + ENERGY RESEARCH CENTRE
Quarries - So much has been taken away...The Foundation project looks to give something back.
A project looking to ‘fill the hole’ left by British mining, re-adapting its remains for the modern day in the form of a subterranean facility for the built environment and energy research.
The proposal includes the insertion of a facility aimed at providing a source of information and learning benefiting the built environment and energy research. Seeking to bring the quarry into the modern age, adapting it to the specialised information and knowledge based economy that we now find ourselves in.
Facilities incorporated included are:
- Research + Development
- Tool Shed (Trade Skills Learning)
