THE RENAISSANCE OF OBSERVATION

REDSANDS ASTRONOMY OBSERVATORY

Situated eight miles off the coast of Whitstable, Kent, in the Thames Estuary, the seven World War Two anti-aircraft Redsand Sea Forts provide the perfect isolation and structures to create an environment in which observation becomes the main focus.

Designed to accommodate all levels of astronomers, designated interactive spaces instruct visitors in the basics of astronomy, private sleep spaces flip the users sleep pattern and social cooking and dining spaces create community.
